Description:

The main component. Message handling and basic services. AutoTweet NG consists of a (main) component and several plugins. This package includes also the AutoTweet NG Automator plugin (Automatic post attempts for pending twitter messages) and the AutoTweet NG Content-Extension (posting Joomla core content articles).

Installation/Uppgrade instructions:

• To upgrade/install use the standard Joomla installer. If you have installed old module/plugin versions these are updated automatically.

Changes, new features in version 3.0:

• New message and URL handling: All messages are now queued and posted later by the Automator-Plugin. So the Automator-Plugin MUST be installed and enabled (and you need a little bit traffic on your site to trigger the plugin)! After posting, the messages are stored in a message log and you can repost or approve them. Also messages with state error are stored in the log.
  This solution is more failsave and should work with all SEF extensions without extra work. Also it is no longer a problem to save the message posts for a long time in the log.
• New "manually mode": Now AutoTweet has an autopublish feature. For each channel and plugin you can select if the messages should be autopublished or approved before sending.
• Messages: As suggested by many users, the success messages are now only showed when debug mode is enabled.
• There are some more small changes...

Change log:

• Version 3.1: bugfix: URL in posted message is broken on some systems when non-SEF-URLs are used together with an url shortener.
• Version 3.0: stable release; some minor bugfixes.
• Version 3.0RC: release candidate for new major version with new code base and new features; also adding support for Twitter OAuth authentication method (Twitter has deprecated classic authentication method). You MUST upgrade before end of may; see new documentation for more information
• Version 2.6: bugfix for error with PHP 5.3 - "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_NAMESPACE, ...". This fix is only needed when you use AutoTweet with PHP 5.3.
• Version 2.5: new installation/upgrade procedure (see change log and documentation); some minor bugfixes and changes
• Version 2.4: fixing error ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECT when accessing the AutoTweet backend with Google Chrome (#19576); also some other minor issues are fixed
• Version 2.3: Reimplementation of Automator-Functionality for better performance and stability on sites with huge traffic/posts (You must also upgrade the Automator-Plugin to version 1.1); hashtags works now also correct with non latin chars
• Version 2.2: fixing another bug comming in with version 2.1 - SORRY!
• Version 2.1: bugfix: URL in message is wrong, when a message with state error is manually reposted from backend; fixing bug "Fatal error: Call to undefined method postStatusMessage"
• Version 2.0: major release: better SEF URLs for pending posts published by Automator-Plugin (you must also upgrade the Extension-Plugins); bugfix: itemid in URL is wrong when more than 1 menu link is assigned (#19249)
• Version 1.3: better error handling for bit.ly short url service
• Version 1.2: AutoTweet works now with all PHP 5 versions (PHP 5.2+ is no longer required); optimizations for hashtags.
• Version 1.1: bugfixing for wrong id in url for new posts, when items are deleted; you must also update plugins
• Version 1.0: stable version, improvements for hashtags, minor bugfix for option 'use title and text'
• Version 1.0RC: Better error handling for short URLs; minor bugfix for hashtag support; new option 'disable version ckecks'; new option 'use CURL instead of sockets'
• Version 1.0beta2: support for new plugin option 'show section/category as hashtag' (needs also new plugin versions RC2 to work); adding function 'Unpublish' to support retweeting of published posts (see documentation)
• Version 1.0beta: no changes, it's the first version
