I installed autotweet and no errors provided, but it didnt post to twitter my new articles.

I have the plugin published and the correct section and category chosen.

Where should I begin to look for errors?

thank you for downloading and testing the beta version. I have checked the plugin in my environment again and everything works fine. So we have to check your environment...

Do you have post the articles from frontend or from backend?
Parameters: Do you use the listbox or the text fields for section/category setting? (Can you send me a screenshot of parameter setting?)


Please do the following:

1. Check again the requirements: PHP 5, PHP cURL extensions must be installed (what is normal on most servers), Joomla 1.5.4 or above

2. Check the twitter account data: are account name and password correct?

3. Enable debugging and post an article. Are there error messages now?

Enable debugging:
- Site, Global Configuration, System: set 'Debug System' to 'Yes'
- Site, Global Configuration, Server: set 'Error Reporting' to 'Maximum'

Note: The plugin post only articles to twitter that are published and have a date that is not in the future. Also it posts only new articles and not articles that are changed.

I can't find any problem in the debugging info.

I will send you a special version of the plugin with some extra debug output. (I hope to find some time tonight for adding the debugging code.)

If you have gmail I am on there with shonnpiersol and i can give you a backend and frontend demo if that helps to test.

I have finished testing now. The plugin works correct, but the twitter api rejects the update call with a http 400 error code.

I can send exactly the same message from all my 3 websites to twitter and it works. So the problem must have to do with your environment:
- configuration of PHP/Joomla (i have checked this and i can't see any relevant differences between your site and my websites)
- twitter rate limit for your ip address is reached? (i dont't think so)
- your account / ip blacklistet for twitter api?

At the moment i have no idea what i can do for you.So I will wait for feedback from other testers and see if they have similar problems...

I have decided to use www.RSS2Twitter.com and it sends my categorgy feed to Twitter for me. So im ok without this plugin.

However, I am always one to want to determine why things dont work. So ill stay following this thread to see what in the end it may have been.
