Just Got Starting: Not Posting 1 Year, 9 Months ago

Hi there. I recently installed AT Pro 1.8 and yesterday setup the Twitter and FB connections. They are all enabled and their account states are OK. Both the Automator-Plugin and Content-Extension plug-ins are installed and enabled.
We had four articles scheduled to get published last night around 8pm (14 hours ago) and while they went live on our site, they did not get posted to our Twitter or Facebook accounts. They are not even listed under Messages in the AT component.
I would have thought they would get posted. AT does work with articles scheduled for future dates, correct? Assuming it is, because that is why we bought AT, how do I debug the non-posting of articles?
We are running Joomla 1.5.17, using PHP 5.26.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I suggest that you have saved the articles with future date before you have installed AutoTweet?
The point is, that Joomla does not raise an event when an article is published automatically (later). So AutoTweet catches the article when it is saved, stores the message in the AT database (you can sse the message in AT backend marked as pending) and posts the message later when the publish date is reached.
One other thing: The Automator-Plugin is triggered when a front end site is loaded. So you need a little bit traffic on your site (or a ping service).

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, we had quite a few stories input with future dates prior to adding AT Pro. Thanks for the explanation of how AT works.
To reconfirm, as articles are input for the first time, they are added to the AT Message queue. How about if an article's publication date is changed later? For instance, I input an article for publication on May 20th and it gets added to the AT message queue, but later I change the article's publication date to May 18th. Will AT know to send the message out to Twitter and Facebook on May 18th?
Also, I guess I am not sure what the Automator Plugin is for.

Yes. If you have set 'post modified' to 'yes' in the plugin options of the Content-Extension-Plugin a new message with the new publish date is stored in the AutoTweet database. Maybe you should delete the other message (with date for 20th) manually, but I think this does not matter. (I know this is not the best solution, but it is the only way to do this with Joomla at the moment).

The Automator-Plugin checks the AutoTweet database periodically for "pending" messages (messages with future date) and posts them if date is reached.
(With upcomming version AutoTweet NG Pro 2.0 this will change and all messages are queued and posted by the automator plugin.)

Thanks for the quick response and the explanations. Greatly appreciated.
I changed the plug-in to post modified articles, modified a few articles and saw them posted to the AT message queue. (I then went back and rechanged the plug-in to post only new stories).
I had modified two articles with today's date and saw them go out. They were confirmed by AT as having been sent. The two articles show up correctly on my Twitter account, but have not shown at FB. I am checking the other forum posts on FB problems now and looking into it. If the problem continues I will let you know.
Thanks again.

OK. I officially don't know what the problem in posting to FB is. Is there a lag in how long FB takes to show the posts? Twitter did it almost instantly. The two articles have not posted to FB and it has been a couple of hours. AT says "Success" in posting to both Twitter and FB. I checked the permissions on the FB side and At has permission to post. Any ideas?
My next article in the queue to be posted to Twitter and FB is scheduled for tonight at midnight. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks in advance.
