I'm Ulli, the developer of 1stMover extensions. Most 1stMover extensions are free of charges or fees and this is the forum site where you can get free support for these extensions. The word "free" is important and it means too, that I'm doing these free things in my free time and sometime I'm not able to answer all the questions posted here. I would like to ask for your patience.

If you want to help me (writing manuals, answering the posts here) then this will be very appreciated.

Before posting new post, please read the documentation and the previous forum posts as answering the same questions takes a lot of time which is missing for developing and for answering not yet answered posts.

Hi,

First of all, thank you for this excellent plugin. I really enjoy using it to spread the word about my articles on Facebook and Twitter.

My site is multilingual via JoomFish. The articles, however, are only published in the main language (Dutch) on the social networks.

However, sometimes the shortened URL links to another language of the site.

I tried using the BASE href, as I had some issues with the domain used as well, but this didn't solve the problem of the language.

Do you have any suggestions?

Configuration
- Joomla 1.5.20
- AutoTweet 2.0.x
- JoomFish 2.1.-
- URL-shortening via bit.ly (own username)

Hi,

I have no experiences with mutli language sites and Joomfish. AutoTweet takes the url returned by the Joomla system for the article. So I do nothing special with languages...

Can you please post the url of your site and the twitter/facebook account that I can have a look on the urls?

Hi,

I have checked your site/twitter account and the Joomfish url router code.

Here are my suggestions:

  • Generally AutoTweet and Joomfish are working correct.

  • AutoTweet uses the URL returned by the Joomla system route function. This is one of the language URLs created by Joomfish.

  • There must be a criteria for Joomla what URL of the genreated language URLs is returned by the system route function (I can't find out this at the moment, because I have not a real multi language site on my test system and I have not the time to setup one).

  • What you should do: Observe your articles and find out what is common for the articles with the same language URL posted for. (Ideas: Language the article is writen first; Language of the author; ...)

  • If you find out something, let me know!



Sorry that I can't say more at the moment. But to test this and find out the solution an real multi language site is needed.

Thanks for taking a look. The problem is, it is really random. Articles are always written in Dutch first by me. But even articles in the same category sometimes get published in French (though very sledomly in English).

I guess I will ask the same question on the JoomFish Forum.

Another suggestion: AutoTweet posts an article with the Automator-Plugin (At this time the URL is routed). The plugin is executed when a user loads a site. Maybe the URL is returned by Joomla/Joomfish for the language of the user who loads the site....

If so, I have no idea what I can do. I will think about this within the next days...
