I'm Ulli, the developer of 1stMover extensions. Most 1stMover extensions are free of charges or fees and this is the forum site where you can get free support for these extensions. The word "free" is important and it means too, that I'm doing these free things in my free time and sometime I'm not able to answer all the questions posted here. I would like to ask for your patience.

If you want to help me (writing manuals, answering the posts here) then this will be very appreciated.

Before posting new post, please read the documentation and the previous forum posts as answering the same questions takes a lot of time which is missing for developing and for answering not yet answered posts.

Thank you very much for your understanding, Ulli

Hallo,

I´m using mod eventlist. All hashtags with Citys with a "Umlaut" (ä,ü,ö) are broken before the "Umlaut".

Thanks for helping.

Hi,

this is a problem with twitter not with the AutoTweet extension. You can test this: Go to the twitter web interface and enter a message with special chars (i. e. "german Umlaute"). Now you see the same behavior.

When I strip the special chars from the text or transformate them to something similar, this does not help, because people enter the words with special chars in the hashtag search and does not find anything.

So I have decided to leave the special characters in the text because some twitter clients like "echofon" can handle the special chars and are displaying the hashtags correct.

IMO this is the best I can do at the moment.

I suggest that you are german. If this helps, I can explain this also in german. Let me know if I should translate.
